Senior Pros

Do you lead a team of talented PR Pros or have established yourself in the Kansas City PR community? Going beyond the traditional “how to” topics, Senior Pros caters to those professionals with 12 or more years of experience in the field.

Highlighted throughout the year is the Senior Pros Speaker Series, held in the spring and fall, which brings outside speakers to offer insight on topics affecting our team leaders. Past speakers have included distinguished professors, best-selling authors, and trendsetters in social media.

Past Events

October 2008: Professor Bill Smullen, director of Syracuse University’s Maxwell School’s National Security Studies Program and former chief of staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell, joined us at Nara in the Crossroads and gave an in-depth look of at using communications to reach and influence stakeholders.

March 2009: Best-selling author Rick Foster (“How We Choose to be Happy”) gave an intimate, round-table discussion at the Hotel Phillips in downtown on how to take associates and clients from feeling worried to wonderful in troubled times by creating positive morale within one’s team or company. After all, happy employees are productive employees.

September 2009: Social media thought leader Brian Solis, principal of FutureWorks, author, and avid speaker on new marketing and engagement, provided a one-on-one, deep-dive conversation into social media at AMC Mainstreet downtown.

Don’t just take our word for it – here’s what attendees have had to say:

“It was very relevant and very thought–provoking — especially with everything that is going on in the world today. It’s not often that people can sit down with a nationally known author and trainer and talk like we did this morning. I took away so many interesting ideas that I have to think where I might want to start.”

“(The) event was absolutely outstanding … the one-hour conversation with the speaker was personal, direct and, ultimately, more interesting and fulfilling than I know the other events would have been for me … this event provided some simple ideas to be more effective as PR pros and as leaders in our agency, without requiring us to do a lot of things different. Just a superior program.”

“The speaker was great … extremely relevant, rich in data and thought-provoking…He gave some great ideas on how I can now branch out and build my brand with social media.”

“Thank you for planning such terrific events and for bringing this very inspiring, prestigious speaker to Kansas City.”
