Norita Taylor, APR

Norita has been in public relations for more than 20 years on both the agency and corporate sides. She has been with the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) for 12 years as Director of Public Relations. She serves as a facilitator for the online study course for Accreditation in Public Relations which also includes mentoring APR candidates. She serves as a marketing volunteer for City Theatre of Independence. Her hobbies include amateur photography, both digital and film, and playing piano and singing in classic rock bands.

Alex Miller

Alex Miller, Communications Coordinator for Parson+Associates, brings creative and professional strategies into any project he is involved in. From planning and executing a special event, building relationships with community leaders and business owners, or talking directly with media members, Alex has the proven experience to bring clear and cohesive messages to the public.

Alex has built several key relationships with Kansas City officials, community leaders, and business owners working on the KC Streetcar Construction, as the Assistant Campaign Manager for City Councilman Dan Fowler and City Councilman Scott Wagner, ADA Compliance, LISC NeighborhoodsNow, RideKC and 20th Street Streetscape.

Aaron Smullin
SVP - People

During his career, Smullin has worked in a variety of industries, ranging from nonprofit and corporate to health IT. He has done everything from managing an organization’s brand to fundraising to serving as public information officer.

Smullin holds a bachelor of arts from West Virginia University, a certificate in professional fundraising from Boston University and a master of arts from Rockhurst University.

Sydnie Burton 
VP - Sponsorship

Sydnie Burton is an Account Manager at DMH, a full-service advertising agency located in the heart of KC Stockyards District. She has worked with clients big and small to help them tell their stories through mixed media. Her previous experiences include FanThreeSixty, Willoughby Design, and Fleishman-Hillard. Prior to taking the role of VP of Member Connections, Sydnie served as the VP of Finance and on committees for the PRISM Awards and #PRSSAKC Summit. Sydnie is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Go Big Red!

Meredith Cantrell
VP - Membership

Meredith Cantrell was recently named Foundation Relations Director at Saint Luke’s Health System, where she is responsible for securing grants to support Saint Luke’s clinical programs. Prior to this new role, Meredith was part of the Saint Luke’s marketing team for nearly 10 years serving as marketing director for Saint Luke’s Concierge and Information Technology services. In her free time she a violinist in the Kansas City Civic Orchestra and teaches Zumba at Lee’s Summit Parks & Rec.

Sheba Clarke
VP - Mentorship

Sheba Clarke has a diverse background in the communication industry.  She currently heads the Grandview C-4 School District's Public Relations Department. She considers herself a recovering television news junkie who has spent ten years as a news reporter in local news markets from small to large.

After leaving the news business she jumped right into Public Relations and never looked back. During her time in PR, she was instrumental in developing the award-winning #WeAreGrandview community-wide social media campaign as well as implementing an award-winning staff newsletter. She also started a reading buddy volunteer program for community members to read to kids, launched a new website and participated in various initiatives that promote the district’s brand.

She is a member of the Missouri Schools Public Relations Association and the National Schools Public Relations Association. 

Sheba earned her Bachelor of Arts degree at Iowa State University where she majored in Journalism and Mass Communication. During her time at Iowa State, she was a proud member of the Women's Track and Field team and scholar-athlete. She even set several sprint records and earned All-American honors in the 60-meter dash. #CyclONEnation

Sarah Biles, APR
VP - Finance 

Sarah Biles is director of communications at Harvesters—The Community Food Network, this region’s food bank which provides food to a network of 620 nonprofit agencies in 26-counties.

Prior to Harvesters, Sarah worked as director of community relations at another non-profit in Kansas City—Union Station. Her background also includes work as a reporter and producer in radio and television news.

Erin Barham, APR
Assistant VP - Finance 

Raised in the nation's heartland, Erin is a native of Kansas City and graduated from the University of Missouri. She began her communications career working for the United Methodist Church. In a twist of fate she relocated to Jackson, Mississippi in 2009, to take a position at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she worked in the offices of Information Technology and Public Affairs. From there, she was recruited to the Mississippi Division of Medicaid and served as the Deputy Administrator for Communications and Public Information Officer. Most recently, she joined the team at Parson + Associates as a communications strategist.

Erin has earned multiple PRism and Lantern awards from the Public Relations Association of Mississippi (PRAM) and Southern Public Relations Federation, while also holding leadership positions within the organizations. In 2017, she was honored as the PRAM Central practitioner of the year.

One of her life goals is to visit all 60 of the national parks, she keeps a spreadsheet of all her favorite restaurants, and is also a 200-hour registered yoga teacher. Namaste.

Bridget Koan
VP - Communications

Bridget Koan is a Public Relations Specialist at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She writes about the Conservatory of Music and Dance, the School of Computing and Engineering, Theatre, the Department of Economics, the Department of Art and Art History and facilities. Bridget also monitors the University's social media accounts and coordinates social media initiatives.
