Meet Steve Kraske of KCUR and The Star at Solo Pros on June 13

Steve Kraske is a member of The Kansas City Star's Editorial Board, host of KCUR's "Up to Date," and a professor of journalism at UMKC. He has worked at The Star since 1986 – first as a police reporter, as a Statehouse reporter in both Missouri and Kansas and as the paper's chief political correspondent and columnist.

Kraske has covered 11 national political conventions, including last summer's back-to-back gatherings in Cleveland and Philadelphia. A 2016 fellow at the Dole Institute of Politics at the University of Kansas and a John S. Knight journalism fellow at Stanford University, he is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Journalism who has won numerous awards for his print and broadcast work.

Kraske lives in Westwood with his wife, Kady McMaster, a former Star reporter and editor who now works in marketing and communications at UMKC. The couple have two college-age sons.
