All work and no play? It’s time to change that.
When we planned the May happy hour, we thought that we would be welcoming summer at Snow and Co. instead of finally – hopefully - giving one last toast to winter. I promise, the weather will be nice by then, but if it’s not their warm drinks are delish too! If you have a friend who should belong to the chapter, please send me an email for information on how you could bring them as your guest for FREE!
If you haven’t been there you will love it. Great atmosphere combines with a great food and drink menu. And we will not require you to sing, but I also promise you will have more fun if you do.
This is our way of taking a little break before things get really busy again in the chapter. And it will be a much needed break for those of us who have been judging the many PRISM entries sent to us from the Houston Chapter.
Several members have signed up to start the APR prep courses which will start in late June or early July. There is still time to join that group. Just let me know you are interested Even if you don’t feel like you’re ready to take the exam, sitting in on those courses is a great way to network and expand your knowledge.
On a personal note, please update your records for me. During the past two weeks I have heard from several people who have tried to contact me at my former employer. I apologize if you've done that, because those messages seem to have gone into a black hole. Really I am responsive. Here is my current contact information:

Are you in need of some time to bounce ideas off colleagues or maybe just vent to someone who understands the in's and out's of PR and communications? What if that situation was combined with original drinks from a great location and getting the chance to see folks singing their favorite songs like "We're not gonna take it," "We built this city (on rock and roll)" and "My heroes have always been cowboys"?
Well, we've got an event for you. Join us for a special private happy hour event for GKC PRSA members and guests at Snow & Company consisting of drinks, karaoke, a signature cocktail and a time to enjoy the start of the summer season. We've lowered the fee to only $10 for members and $0 for those interested in APR accreditation. If you already registered with the higher rate, we'll pay you the difference!
Ticket fee includes two drink tickets and hors d'oeuvres.
Located in the historic Crossroads Art District of downtown Kansas City, Snow & Co. is a modern, open and uber comfortable cocktail and café lounge. Snow & Co. is Kansas City's living room and preferred Comfort Cocktail destination. Our cocktails feature only fresh squeezed juices and homemade syrups with premium liquors. We do local like no other bar in town with collaborations from Christopher Elbow, Boulevard Beer, 360 Vodka and Soda Vie.

Call for volunteer judges!
Do you have at least two years of PR experience? Would you like to pay it forward and volunteer for PRSA? If so, we have the perfect role for you!
We have teamed up with the Houston PRSA Chapter for PRISM award judging and currently are seeking professionals with two years of experience to help with the judging process. We have received Houston’s entries, so judging will take place throughout the next month via email.
If you are interesting in judging, please contact Aaron Smullin at asmullin@ourcommunityfoodbank.org, and he will email the entries to you for judging.
**If you are an APR, we especially need you since each entry must have at least one APR judge! |
